PreK - 3rd Grade Charter School
Charter schools are public schools of choice, operated by a non-profit agency. Tuition is free for eligible children. Charter schools are accountable to the local school board to produce positive academic results and adhere to the charter contract. They are responsible for both academic results and fiscal practices to several groups: the local school board, the parents who choose them and the public that funds them.
The Bailes Campus' charter school will focus on the arts and technology and full inclusion. The school will have 21 classrooms and various other rooms where students can learn and explore educational lessons that will open their minds to opportunites not excercised in many other schools.
Infant/Toddler Program
UCP's infant and toddler programs provide a learning environment that has the greatest impact on early learning. Some of the highlights of the program include:
- Providing academic and behavior expectations that prepare children to participate at the appropriate level.
- Providing activities that capitalize on the child's strengths and abilities in order to address their needs. Instead of concentrating on what the child "can't" do - UCP builds on what they "can" do.
- Providing opportunities for children with and without disabilities to learn and play together.
- Providing non-traditional and innovative instructional methods.
- All classes are taught by a teacher who has a Bachelors degree, or higher, and who is also eligible for certification in the state of Florida.
- Each class has one or two Teacher's Assistants. (Based on enrollment)
- Class size will range from 7 to 15 children based on the age and involvement level of the students.
Before/After School Care
Several regular and specialized programs will be offered for students needing a safe, positive environment to stay before and/or after school. Programs include enrichment activities, arts and crafts, outdoor activities and more. Fees for before/after-school care are additional.
In addition to the regular after school program,we will offer seperate classes and workshops such as drama, karate, music and dance.
Summer Camps
During the summer, it is important that children enjoy time with family and friends, but it is equally important they continue working toward their educational goals. During the summer, the Bailes Campus will offer a variety of programs for children of all ages and abilites. Each of these programs include learning opportunities and a chance to make many new friends through an assortment of exciting activities.
